I went to the Temple of Heaven. I saw a big red gate and a pathway to the echo wall. But we didn't go that pathway, we went on the main pathway like in this picture. When we got there, I thought that it was a dead end. We also played in a forest of trees around the temple. It was all laid out in rows and diagonals. I did nothing there but my sister and brother played tag.
Rosa, mommy and me sat on the steps below the temple for this picture. The temple was very, very beautiful and had lots and lots of pretty colors. It was a sunny day and I liked going there.

This is a picture of our friend Hua Dun. She is playing her Erhu, a traditional Chinese violin. It has two strings only. She played beautiful songs. We were sitting in the courtyard of our highrise. There is a nice little park there. My daddy says there is more information about the Erhu and a sample of this music at this website: http://www.philmultic.com/home/instruments/erhu.html
This week I am leaving Beijing and going to Rebgong. I am thinking about all of my friends and hope you are doing well.

Hi there Happy Family
we could not get onto your blog earlier...I think Catherine had the wrong address but luckily I found it under a pile of notes on my desk, of all places!
so, let's see.......Happy Halloween and you will be glad to know your pumpkins were burning brightly. Happy Birthday to Noah, we hope that it was your best b'day ever. Happy Thanksgiving to all - you probably missed out on turkey dinner but so what. You've probably been having much more interesting food than us anyway. Happy Tooth Fairy to the toothless wonders.
We miss all of you. We hope Cain is having a great time of it all.
And, Char we wish you the best in your work.
Weather dropped to 26F last night and now frosty and 32F. We actually had a lovely sunny day yesterday and lots of stars last night. Manly man, Trigger, is taking good care of things. I'm trying to get him to buy back Lilly, the Taurus, for his son. No luck yet. I just bought a 1974 Porsche 914, light green, same owner of 32 years, mileage of 77K, mint condition.
Interstate5 N flooded and was shut down for almost a week through Centralia and Chehalis area. It was eerily quiet and bare when I went through there on Friday right when it opened back up. By today, it's probably a wall of 18wheelers and all others. We had neighborhood Xmas party last night - kind of quiet. Lots of people with other engagements, including moi.
finally got on amazon and ordered a copy of char's book.....to help me get to sleep at night! hahaha
Give us an address if you have one that will be constant for at least a couple of weeks. How long do you think it takes to get a mailing to you? Sorry I haven't gotten around to getting a scype set up yet.
and the girlzzzzzzzzzzzz
oh my goodness, those close up shots without teefs. yikes! hope they get new ones before you come home.
Love you all
Susan and Catherine
